D-Groups

D-Groups are discipleship groups at New City Church. They are typically made up of one D-Group Leader and 2-3 disciples. They are mostly free to set up there own rhythms of meetings, prayer, study, discussion and fellowship. D-Group leaders have demonstrated gospel-centered theological clarity, Christian character and a missional life.

D-Group Studies

By and large, D-Group leaders are able to develop studies as needed by the group. One of the primary sources of study materials is through Porterbrook Austin, a theological training program administered by New City Church. D-Groups are allowed to take any of the courses offered in the Theology for Everyone curriculum through their D-Group without waiting for it's regularly scheduled quarter.

Become a D-Group Leader

If you are interested in becoming a D-Group leader, please email . D-Group Leaders can enter training after being their application has been approved. By the time training is complete, you will be moved forward based on demonstrated gospel-centered theological clarity, Christian character and a missional life. Training consists of the following courses: Gospel Leadership, Gospel Relationships & Gospel Change. In some circumstances leaders can be approved prior to completing all the courses if they demonstrate strength in these areas and make every attempt to take the courses the next time they are offered.
