Jacob Vanhorn, Pastor Jacob serves as the pastor of the New City Church. He last served as the College & Singles Pastor at The Village Church in Highland Village, Texas.
He is married to his lovely bride, Christie and has two really cool children, Caleb is 7 and Hannah is 5. They live in South Central Austin and are super excited to raise their children here and to call Austin home for the next 20-40+ years.
Jacob loves Jesus, the New City community and the city of Austin, and beyond. He is an advocate for those experiencing homelesness & poverty in Austin, and in Haiti.
Jacob also serves as a:
- Founder & Board Member of the ReWork Project, a city-wide community response that is about work itself and rethinking work for those experiencing homelessness.
- Founder & Vision Director for Porterbrook Austin, a thelogical training program.
- Strategic Partnership Director for Help One Now, a catalytic tribe committed to caring for orphans & vulnerable children by empowering & resourcing high capacity local leaders in order to transform communities & break the cycle of extreme poverty.
- Director for Garage Sale for Orphans, a movement that encourages people to sell their excess stuff to support projects that care for orphans & vulnerable children.

Austin Henderson, Program Director of the ReWork Project & Local Renewal Austin leads our community initiative, ReWork Project, to serve our homeless friends in the city. The ReWork Project is a city-wide community response that is about work itself and rethinking work for those experiencing homelessness. Austin grew up in New Zealand and Budapest before arriving in Texas for college.

Larry Gross, Director of Worship Larry serves as the Director of Worship and overseas our New City Creatives Team. He is married to Jana and has three beautiful daughters, Zoe, Teya and Piper.
